Jr. Dragster Class Info & Rules


Just so you know:

When the 2013 NHRA Jr. Dragster Rulebook comes out it has a rule change:

NHRA offers 3 levels of Jr. Dragster racing.


NOVICE: ages 8 and 9: dial-in restricted to 12.90 seconds or slower based on either an e.t. dial-your-own or heads-up basis; breakout rules apply.  In qualified events, no racer can qualify quicker than 12.9000.  Any racer running quicker than 12.70 e.t. at any time during an event will receive on warning.  Any racer running quicker than 12.50 e.t. at any time during an event will be immediately disqualified for the remainder of the event. The above penalties will be imposed regardless.

INTERMEDIATE: ages 10 to 18; dial-in restricted to 8.90 seconds or slower based on either an e.t. dial-your-own or heads-up basis; breakout rules apply. In qualified events, no racer can qualify quicker than 8.900. Any racer running quicker than 8.70 e.t. at any time during an event will receive one warning. Any racer running quicker than 8.50 e.t. at any time during an event will be immediately disqualified for the remainder of the event.

ADVANCED: ages 13-18; dial-in restricted to 7.90 seconds or slower based on either an e.t. dial-your-own or heads-up basis;  breakout rules apply. In qualified events, no racer can qualify quicker than 7.900. ANY RACER RUNNING QUICKER THAN 7.70 E.T. OR FASTER THAN 85.00 MPH AT ANY TIME DURING AN EVENT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.
